1. Lowe Cape Town’s new TV ad for Prudential
Our team developed this new TV ad for Prudential Investors Management (an investment firm in Claremont. They have branches in Jozi and Namibia as well). Shot in the heart of Madagascar…and using the locals as the star actors in the ad, the message behind it is that one has to be consistently good at what you do day after day and month after month to achieve the desired results.
Pretty cool stuff considering the team were hands on…like actually being in the water / bush / sand…whatever needed to be done. Amazing work done by an amazing team once again. So proud.
2. Our Californian export Maurice is back
He isn’t really but he did come all the way from the West Coast in USA to come and chill with us here in Cape Town…and for the second time nogal!! This guy is so in love with our city that he’s even thinking of buying property out here. I’m not surprised because who wouldn’t want to live in Cape Town?? Duhhh….
3. Have you been to that place with the green sign in Plumstead yet?
If not, then you should go there sometime. The place is called Gonzos and it’s located in Plumstead main road, in the same complex as the huge Checkers grocery store. Now I’m not going to lie, it’s not like a Living Room or anything (that bouchie place in Belville man) but I had such a fun time there on Saturday that I might even consider going back again! And no one judges your ridiculous dance moves because no one gives a shit about what you look like…which is super cool considering that most people are so self conscious that they’d rather stand uncomfortably than let loose because they’re afraid they’ll be judged. Well I’ve got good news for you guys. NO ONE CARES IN THIS PLACE. It’s all about having fun, dancing your ass off and taking advantage of the amazing drinks prices and good old hip hop and RNB jams.
Of course we as capetonians love dressing up and its nice to do that once in a while, but when you wanna be relaxed with your flats and jeans, shooting a game of pool or just chilling with a beer or 9. This is the perfect place.
It was pumping on Saturday when I popped by so i’m guessing Saturday evenings are good for pulling through

4. I finally watched Fast 7
Probably the coolest movie I’ve seen for the year so far and I’ve been a fan of the franchise since the very beginning so I was very curious as to how it was going to end. Not to give anything away but I did shed a tear…although the whole Cape Town has probably watched it already and knows exactly how it ends. But for those of you that haven’t yet. What are you waiting for????? Go watch it now…like right now. No disappointments I promise J
And if you haven’t seen the tribute music vid for Paul Walker, you can watch it below but keep the tissues ready. It’s really sad but really amazing as well.
5. Coachella Photos that made me wish I was there…
I’ve been to one music festival in my lifetime…some trance party in the outskirts of Cape Town but I swear nothing compares to being able to attend THIS festival. Every year I troll the internet in search of outfit inspiration and every year I shed a tear after the Coachella Festival ends and I’m left with extreme FOMO for every photo I see on it.
For those of you that don’t know, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is an annual music and arts festival held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, located in the Inland Empire‘s Coachella Valley in the Colorado Desert, basically 100 trillion miles away from Cape Town on the other side of the world. We on this side can only dream of attending, sure we have our own amazing festivals but nothing compares to rocking out with famous faces, mind blowing art displays and out of this world music entertainment.
I’ve only added a few photos of the festival so if you keen to look at some more, I’ve added links below.
Some outfit inspirations for future festivals perhaps? I think so…and you’re welcome 🙂
