It’s been a while since I’ve done a specific midweek motivational but when a friend and fellow varsity graduate sent me an online flyer that promoted a winter initiative that helped other people, I knew it was something worth discussing.
Winter is not a good month in Cape Town, it’s super icy cold, its wet, it’s windy and just really miserable in general. But while we complain about how uncomfortable it is living through these 3 months of coldness, others are out there with little or nothing having to battle these hectic conditions with sometimes not much more than the clothes on their backs. In times like these we need to remember that anything we can do to help our fellow humans in need will always be appreciated.
That’s where this great idea comes in. Project Hygiene is basically there are a group of people putting hygiene packs together to distribute to those in need and each hygiene pack costs R70. This is where you come in. For this amount you can afford someone the opportunity to also have access to basic hygienic items. It’s quite a decent amount of goodies and goes a long way to those that don’t have. I think it’s a pretty cool initiative and so simple in its purpose, and now you have the opportunity to be a part of that by purchasing 1, 2 or even 3 hygiene packs for individuals less fortunate. Because doing good things can only make you feel amazing in the end and helping others is the single selfless act we can still do and have people be proud of us.
I’ve attached the flyer below. You should find all the information you need on the cause and how you can donate.
Lovely design as well right? Compliments of my good friend Natheefah Maroof, who is also part organiser in this initiative. She’s been doing a lot of cool things as well. Go check out her blog as well when you have a minute.
Thank you for reading and I hope I’ve inspired you to create unique ideas like this one to do good in your community or just in general. It really doesn’t take a lot to do a lot.
Happy Wednesday. Keep warm!
